The Red Meat Advisory Council (RMAC) today welcomed the Joint Statement to grow agricultural trade with China.
The following quotes can be attributed to RMAC Independent Chair, Mr Don Mackay:
“We congratulate the Turnbull Government for delivering the Joint Statement, initiatives like these are critical to unlocking the 7-billion-dollar growth opportunity identified in the Meat Industry Strategic Plan 2020.”
“We welcome, in particular, additional access for the chilled meat trade and fast tracking the listing of 15 additional establishments eligible to export meat to China and the promotion of a protocol for the export of Australian slaughter sheep and goats.”
“Ever improving market access is something tangible governments can deliver for the longevity and prosperity of Australian agrifood businesses, and the Australian families and communities we serve.”
“Expanded access for plant listings was a key priority for RMAC and our members this year in Feeding Our People 2017. We thank all those involved in industry that helped get this over the line.”
