Restocking heifers lift 5c/kg to 336c/kg at SELX

Phill Butt, Butt Livestock & Property sold Angus x Steers on behalf of The Riverview Trust, Gunning to a top of 395.6c/kg, av 290.6kg, $1149.71ph.

Restocking heifers lifted 5c to sell from 310c to 336c/kg at SELX Yass on June 8.

Numbers lifted and the quality was mixed. Yearlings were well supplied but most were purchased by feeder orders while prime trade weights were very limited.

Grown steers remain in short supply and there was an increase in 4 and 6 tooth heifers and heavy cows.

Light restocking vealers sold to a cheaper trend of 6c ranging from 320c to 410c/kg.

Restocking heifers lifted 5c to sell from 310c to 336c/kg. Feeder steers varied on breed with crossbreds selling from 8c to 10c cheaper and other breeds 5c to 7c stronger, which resulted in a large range of 290c to 370c/kg.

Feeder heifers eased 10c to 15c to sell between 270c and 338c/kg.

Grown steers were 20c cheaper with little competition from processors.

Aged steers sold from 250c and younger steers made 302c/kg. Lighter plainer grown heifers lifted 11c and averaged 262c/kg, as the quality was better.

Cows were back 3c on the medium weight 2 scores which sold from 192c to 226c/kg. The heavy weights eased 7c to range from 210c to 243c for an average of 234c/kg.
