Heifers joined to Wagyu bull make $2200 on AuctionsPlus

Angus-cohortPTIC female numbers this week remained strong, with PTIC heifers averaging $1,496 to a top price of $2,200 for a line of Adrossan blood Angus heifers from Inverell, NSW, on AuctionsPlus.

These heifers are 11 to 14 months old and PTIC to Wagyu bulls. Young PTIC Cows averaged $1,866 with a top price of $2,450.

This top price went to a line of rising 3 year old Speriby North blood Angus heifers from Glen Innes, NSW, PTIC to Angus bulls.

Cattle numbers slipped slightly this week with a total consignment of 9,043 head.

State by state offerings are as follows; Queensland 2,143 head, New South Wales 4,992 head, Victoria 1,245 head, South Australia 286 head, Tasmania 235 head and Western Australia 142 head.

Cow and calf numbers were limited this week. First calvers averaged $2,108 with a top price of $2,540. This top price went to a line of 24 to 26 month old, Charolais cross heifers with 3 to 11 week old Charolais calves at foot weighing 106kg.

These heifers have been re-joined to Angus bulls and are from Mundulla, SA. Mixed aged cows and calves averaged $1,716 with a top price of $1,860. This top price went to a line of 6 to 10 year old, Santa cross & Angus cross cows with 3 to 5 month old Charbray & Droughtmaster calves at foot weighing 193kg. These cows have been re-joined to Angus bulls and are from Toobeah, QLD.

This week from Tasmania offered 235 head, over 16 lots. Stand out lines include a line of 5 to 12 year old, Angus cows from Ringarooma, PTIC to Angus bulls which sold for $1,810. A line of 8 to 10 month old, Poll Hereford & Poll Hereford/ Angus steers, 275kg, sold for 382c/kg or $1,050.

From Western Australia 142 head were offered over 6 lots. Stand out lines include a line of 3 to 5 month old, Angus & Angus cross mixed sex calves, 85.9kg/ dressed, from Pemberton which sold for 666c/kg or $571.
