To maintain J-BAS 7 a producer must implement an on-farm biosecurity plan, over sighted by a veterinarian by June 30 2017 and conduct a triennial check test.

After some much needed rain last week, albeit a bit patchy some areas received the best falls in months, with Tamworth scoring up to 30mm and 40/50mm in some parts of the north west.
Crops were in some serious need of moisture and this will assist with weight gains over the next few weeks. However, with a run of some good frosts for next week due to the large cold front forecasted, growth might be steady for the next week or two.
Markets are generally firm and there is no doubt the underlying strength in our markets seems fundamentally strong, however with processors now out at least two weeks and some feedlots three weeks to a month out for deliveries the next few weeks are looking to ease.
Best MSA grids are pushing $6kg if you’re lucky enough to have any, while best black feeder types are $3.60/80 depending on weight.
As calving is only a month away, most will be focused on getting the all important legs on the ground. If you are considering marketing any excess numbers, give us a call to discuss your options.

If your clients want a full gallery of buyers at auction, they should implement a biosecurity plan. To maintain J-BAS 7 a producer must implement an on-farm biosecurity plan, over sighted by a veterinarian by June 30 2017 and conduct a triennial check test.
If producers do not wish to undertake testing or utilise a veterinary adviser, they can still maintain a score of J-BAS 6 by implementing their own biosecurity plan before June 30.
If nothing is done by June 30 their herds J-BAS will drop to 0, the same status as infected & suspected herds.
