Droughtmasters dominated the feedlot stage of the 2017 RNA Paddock to Palate competition run in conjunction with the EKKA.
Presentations took place at Mort & Co’s Grassdale Feedlot where the cattle have been on feed.
One of the outstanding results was a number of wins and places by the Atkinson Family from “Katandra” Hughenden with their Angus X Droughtmaster steers.
In the 100 day grain fed classes, the Atkinsons placed First, Second and Fourth in the Rabobank Best Weight Gain for a pen of 6 grain fed steers

Rob & Donna Atkinson Atkinson Pastoral Co 4th with an Angus X Droughtmaster steer – ADG of 3.43
70 Days on Feed
Rob & Donna Atkinson won the Elanco Animal Health highest individual weight gain (70 days on feed) with an Angus X Droughtmaster Steer, ADG 3.94.
The Atkinsons also placed 5th with a pen of Angus x Droughtmasters steers, ADG 2.82
Other competitors included Santos, Gus & Jen McCormack, Peter Howes & Co., Nerohn Pastoral Co., TV & PE O’Brien and Brodie & Ayesha Clifford.
