Light steers to restock sold to 370c/kg while trade vealers ranged from 300c to 338c/kg at SELX Yass.
Numbers were steady and the quality was fair to good. Yearlings made up the bulk of the young cattle with the majority going onto feed.
Weaners were limited as were prime trade cattle. There was a bigger and better quality run of grown steers and bullocks.
Cows were in similar numbers and the heavy run of cows was better in quality while the plainer medium weights varied more. Young cattle sold to a cheaper trend while grown cattle were firm to dearer.
Medium and heavy feeder cattle sold 15c to 16c cheaper with the steers ranging from 274c to 335c and heifers 270c to 309c/kg. The few trade cattle ranged from 300c to 324c/kg.
Grown steers and bullocks sold to similar prices and received 270c to 295c/kg.
The 2 score medium weight cows were cheaper only on quality, selling from 170c to 224c/kg. Heavy 3 and 4 score cows ranged from 222c to 248c, to average 240c/kg.
