Clayfield Stud topped the stud section for bulls and females at the 2017 Grafton Droughtmaster sale with Lot 8 Clayfield Jinker selling for $7500 to A&K McIntyre of Glen Innes.
Lot 28 Clayfield Jasmine topped at $2200 and was purchased by P Neal of Backmede.
A top line up of young bulls with excellent pedigrees and great presentation were on offer from six NSW studs. Reduced bidding this year saw only 12 of the 21 bulls on offer sold.
Bulls averaged $4250 with the top two bulls selling for $7500 (from Clayfield Stud Lot 8 -weight 770kg, EMA 128 ,22 months of age) and & $5500 (from Cedar Springs Stud Lot 2 – weight 774kg, EMA 124 and 26 months old).
There was a high demand for females and a strong sale for all 173 females on offer with 100% clearance.
Sale toppers included stud PTIC heifer from Lindesay & Janet Allan, Clayfield Stud at $2200, cows & calves at $1840 from Edwin Withers, PTIC heifers at $1800 account of Paul &Wendy Carter & Sons and unjoined heifers for $1500 sold by Nick Fuller.
