SELX-Cattle-3-Aug

MD & JJ Anderson selling Angus x Steers on behalf of McLean & McLean to a top of 352c/kg, av 255.7kg, $900.11ph.

Light restocking steers sold to a top of 352c and vealers reached 310c/kg at SELX Yass.

Medium weight feeder steers held firm after a few good large drafts were offered.

Numbers were back along with the quality. Yearlings were best supplied but buyers were still selective on both trade and feeder cattle.

Grown heifers were in good numbers and there were only 70 cows penned. The market was cheaper.

Heavy feeders eased 5c/kg. Prices ranged from 270c to 332c and a pen of medium weights to a re-stocker reached 336c/kg.

There were too few heifers to feed to quote. Trade steers were 15c to 20c cheaper and the heavy trade heifers lost 7c/kg. Most trade cattle sold from 285c to 312c/kg.

Grown steers and bullocks were mostly firm and sold from 250c to 286c/kg. The better-shaped and heavier grown heifers lifted 18c to 20c on a better run and averaged 265c/kg.

Light restocking grown heifers fell 14c ranging from 180c to 252c/kg. The 2 score medium weight cows eased 7c and sold from 185c to 212c/kg. Heavy weights were back 16c and ranged from 206c to 228c to average 220c/kg.
