Charnell Lois sells for $20,000 at Coolabunia Classic

  • CharolaisThe fifth Annual Coolabunia Classic Charolais Bull sale was held at Coolabunia on August 17 conducted by selling agents AUSSIE LAND & LIVESTOCK Kingaroy.

    Graham & Katrina Blanch, of Charnelle Charolais Gatton, had their best Bull Sale ever after 25 years of Stud Charolais breeding under the Charnelle brand. Their star Lot 31 Charnelle Louis (P) L73E made the top money of $20,000 when he was knocked down to Roderick Binny, GLENLEA BEEF, Coffs Harbour.

    Aged 19 months, he weighed 800 Kgs. EMA 137, fat of 10/7, IMF% 4.6 SC 38 and semen morphology of 94%.

    The sale was an overall success with the average price up over $1000 from last years average of $4677 to this years $5700. 41 bulls sold this year against last years 45.Vendors were: Silverwood Charolais, River Run Charolais, Diamond L Charolais & Charbrays & Charnelle Charolais.

    Second Top Price: $10,000 Lot 8 Charnelle Logan (P) (DÁngely) sold to A & A Trigger Family Trust Biggenden. Ashley Trigger was impressed with the softness and hindquarter of this Polled Full French bull. He had a scan of EMA of 138, fat 9/6 and IMF of 4.8.

    He will be going to work with very high-class Brahman females. Third Top Price of $8500 was shared for 3 lots, Lot 3 River Run Lone Ranger (Homozygous Polled) (JWX Silver Bullet) sold to Alfred Isaacson, Kingaroy.

    Lone Ranger was one of Tania Haynes’s Show bulls and had a weight of 985Kgs EMA 136 and fat of 10/7 IMF% 4.7. Lot 4 River Run Lawman also by JWX Silver Bullet sold to John Mewing, Brisbane Valley and had a weight of 1020 Kgs and EMA of 140cm.Lot 34 Charnelle Lenox (P) (DÁngely) was the third bull to make $8500.

    He was a well-muscled son of DÁngley with figures at 21 months of 720 Kgs EMA 136 fat 5/5 IMF% 3.3. The Radel Family have been buying Charnelle Bulls for over 20 years.Wangella Pastoral , Kingaroy was the volume buyer taking home 5 bulls for a $4700 average
    Timm Creek Pastoral Co outlaid $20,500 for 3 bulls for a $6833 average including Lot 6 Diamond L Like-A Bull (P) (Serenity Gusto) for $8000 weighing 1000 kgs . This bull had scans of EMA 145 fat 9/7 IMF% 4.6. This was Diamond L’s top priced bull.
