The O’Sullivan family’s first bull and female sale held on property at “Gunnadoo”, Lower Mount Walker, Qld, recorded a complete clearance with 19 bulls reaching a lot of $15500 twice.
Genuine Article G06 sons in OS. Louisville L41 and OS. Live it Up L38 both sold to Les Flohr, “Ellendale”, Clermont.
Mr Flohr has been purchasing Limousin genetics from Mick O’Sullivan since 1994 when he purchased Kensal Mississippi and was pushed by another long term supporter in Ian McAllister, “Roma Downs”, Roma, who first purchased Kensal Pinnacle in 1996.
Not to miss out, Mr McAllister purchased three bulls paying to a top of $7500 for OS. Lets Go L23 for an average price of $6167.
Complementing the long term supporters were new buyers including Lachie Grundon manager of Sharmarel Farming Trust, “Old Cashmere”, St George, who purchased four bulls in total topping at $6500 for the first Mandayen Kid Rock son to be sold in OS. Master Blaster M22 with an average of $4875 across the draft.
In the break down the 19 bulls average $6026 with nine two year old purebred Limousin bulls averaging $6710 with five yearling purebred Limousin bulls sold for a $4700 average and five two year old Bremer Black bulls averaging $6700.
Females topped at $3500 for OS. Pearl J01 with a homozygous poll black Symes Backstage 466B bull calf at side selling to Jason and Tracey Bell, Kalbar, the three cows averaged $3250.
While heifers averages $2146 with OS. Black Gem L22 a daughter of OS. Hayne Plane H18 and mated to junior herd sire Summit Masterplan L27 making the top money of $3000 purchased by Patricie Hampl and Jodi Gerhardt, “Marbordo”, Currumbin Valley who purchased a further two heifers for an average of $2250.
Mark Bowyer, Bunjurgen, also purchased three heifers for a $2000 average.
The helmsman sale was conducted by agents in conjunction Hayes and Co and Bartholomew and Co.
