Shorthorn bulls top at $11,000 twice at Royalla

RoyallaRoyalla Shorthorns held their Top of the Grid Bull Sale at their Yeoval, NSW property with bulls topping at $11,000.

The sale started strongly with lot 1, Royalla Serengeti L338 securing the equal top price of $11,000. Serengeti L338 was the first son offered of the $36,000 Royalla sire, Sprys Junction and from the Royalla Isobel G482 dam.

Serengeti L338 is in the top 5% of Shorthorn Beef for Gestation Length, top 10% for 200 & 600 Day Growth, top 15% 400 Day Growth and Carcass Weight and top 20% CE Direct and Scrotal size.

Equal top priced bull at $11,000 was lot 6, Royalla Simon L357. The son of Royalla Ostentatious G404 and from the Royalla Belinda G312 dam, Simon L357 is the top 5% of Shorthorn Beef for CE Daughters, 200 & 600 Day Growth, 10% 4oo Day Growth, 15% Carcass Weight, Domestic maternal and Northern Maternal Indexes and 20% for CE Direct.

The sale offered a large line up of yearling Shorthorn sires which sold to very strong competition with support from repeat clients helping to underpin the sale result.

In the female section Royalla Isobel M043, offered as a pick lot, topped at $7,000. The 18-month old heifer is a daughter of Sprys Junction and from the renowned Marellan Isobel 9097M donor and featured top 10% CE Direct, Gestation Length, Export Maternal and Northern Maternal Indexes, top 15% Carcass Weight and Domestic Maternal Index and top 20% Birthweight.

Two semen packages of 10 straws each in Royalla super sire, Royalla Rockstar K274, both sold for $350 per straw to repeat clients Marrington Shorthorns and Bayview Shorthorns.

In total, of the 46 Shorthorn sires offered, 46 sold to a top of $11,000 twice and an average of $6,209 whilst 3 heifers also sold for a 100% clearance and a top of $7,000 to average $4,167.
