SELX-Cattle-14-Sep-HR-1342

Jim Hindmarsh & Co sold Shorthorn cows on behalf of Eris & Lyn Heffernan, Biala to a top of 225c/kg, averaging 705kg, $1586.25 ph.

Heavy grown heifers to the trade made from 228c to 245c/kg at SELX this week.

Numbers lifted and the quality improved slightly. Yearlings were best supplied and most went to feeder or restocker orders. Trade vealers were limited as were prime grown steers.

Only 50 cows were penned and there was a good run of heavy weights. The market was cheaper.

Trade vealers sold from 268c to 295c/kg. Light restocker steers reached 300c/kg on plainer lines. Feeder steers eased 11c to 15c to sell from 259c to 302c/kg.

Heifers to feed sold between 255c and 286c/kg. Restocker yearling steers reached 309c/kg. Medium and heavy trade steers received 260c to 306c and heifers 240c to 288c/kg.

Grown steers eased 9c on a very small number of penned cattle and ranged from 255c to 274c/kg.

Cows eased 9c to 12c with the medium weight 2 scores selling from 170c to 185c/kg. Heavy 3 and 4 scores traded from 190c to 225c, averaging 215c/kg.
