Palgrove averages $13,065 and tops at $40,000

The annual Palgrove on property sale topped at $40,000 three times on the way to an outstanding $13,065 Charolais average.

The even line of sires generated strong bidding from the large crowd on property and telephone lines were ringing hot.

The three top price sires were sired by Silverstream Holster (P), Palgrove Jacko (P) and Palgrove Hannibal (P)(R/F) highlighting the depth in the offering.

In total 100 sires were offered for a 100% clearance including 91 poll bulls. Long-term repeat buyer Len Bode, Percol Plains, McKinlay bid the first $40,000 equal top money for Palgrove Legacy (P), one of the first calves by Silverstream Holster (P). Len added to his bidders card with another four sires to average $21,400.

Another regular Palgrove Buyer, The Hopgood Family from Goondiwindi paid $40,000 for the red factor Palgrove Legend (P)(R/F) sired by Palgrove Hannibal (P)(R/F).

The other $40,000 top seller Palgrove Lustre (P) was bought by return buyers Loid and Zabby Appleton, Yarmina, Charters Towers for a son of Palgrove Jacko (P).
