Cows with their first calf at foot sold to $1,675 and heavy Angus cows on their third calf topped the market reaching $1,870/head at SELX.
Numbers lifted and there was a good run of cow-calf units. Weaners made up the bulk of the offering and there were several pens of yearling 12-14 months of age.
The quality was only fair to good with most showing some effects of the dry conditions.
Weaner steers ranging up to 280kg in weights made from $500 to $780/head. Heavier weights $725 to $890/head.
Medium weight weaner heifers sold between $375 and $660 and heavier weights reached $680/head.
Most of the weaner steers ranged between 240c and 270c and the heifers averaged around 205c/kg.
Heavy yearling steers topped at $950/head.
PTIC heifers reached $1,050 and heavy cows $1,075/head.
