Joined heifers averaged $1,266 and sold to $1,330 on AuctionsPlus last week.
This top price went to a line of Lawsons blood Angus heifers from Boorowa, NSW. These rising 2 year old heifers are 484 kg and have been PTIC to a Lawsons Angus bull.
Cattle numbers slipped again last week by 1,134 for a total listing of 4,823 head.
However, patchy rain over the eastern states brought with it a higher clearance rate of 61%. Cow and calf numbers remained strong making up 26% of the listings.
First calvers averaged $1,768 and sold to a top of $2,160. This top price went to a line of Simmental Cross cows with Angus calves at foot from Orange, NSW.
These cows are aged 23 to 24 months, 545 kg and they have been re – joined to an Angus bulls. Proven breeders averaged $1,585 and sold to a top price of $2,010.
This top price went to a line of Angus and Angus Cross cows with Angus calves at foot from Dubbo, NSW. These cows are aged 36 to 38 months, 514 kg and are doing a good job raising their calves. Mixed aged breeders averaged $1,500.
