Senior and grand champion Charolais female at the 2017 Melbourne Royal was exhibited by the Cook Family with their Rangan Showgirl E41 sired by Harvie Redemption.
Showgirl E41 was also the judges selection for Supreme Charolais exhibit.
The Showgirl family have an amazing record in both the show ring and sale ring for Rangan since they selected Palgrove Showgirl 6 as a foundation female for their herd. Reserve Senior female was Waterford Emmaline E11E, sired by Waterford Bonaparte and from the highly successful Noisette family from Airlie.
A large showing of Charolais from three states paraded before judge Mr Geordie Elliott at the Royal Melbourne show.
Deborah and Sapphire Halliday paraded the junior champion heifer Waterford Marshmallow M26E sired by Fernvale Trapper.
This heifer was also the junior champion female at the 2017 National Showcase in Dubbo earlier in the year. Reserve junior champion heifer was Kenmere Tourmaline M102E exhibited by Matt and Ann-Marie Collins, Holbrook NSW.
In the bull classes Kenmere Synergy’s man (P) was selected as junior and grand champion male. Sired by Ashwood Park Synergy G29E this bull weighed 730kg at 17 months with 124cm2 EMA. This calf was the reserve junior champion bull at the 2017 National Showcase.
Reserve junior champion bull was Nigel and Casey Wieck’s CB Godzilla sired by CB Kracker Jack. Kenmere also enjoyed success in the senior bull section with senior Champion Kenmere Legwork also sired by Ashwood Park Synergy G29E.
Curragindi Charolais exhibited the reserve senior champion bull Curragindi Landcruiser. Most successful exhibitor was Kenmere Charolais winning the inaugural Harold Seeley Memorial Trophy which was a fitting result with many of the Kenmere team sired by Ashwood Park Synergy G29E bred by Harold.
