Commercial cattle entries invited for Beef Australia 2018

Beef-AustraliaThe Beef Australia Commercial Cattle Competition provides the opportunity for commercial producers to showcase their cattle.

It also enables them to see how they stack up with others in the industry. Breeds go head to head in both grass-fed and grain-fed classes.

The Commercial Cattle Championships are expected to attract more than 2000 head of quality cattle. The competition will kick off with judging on Sunday 6th May 2018 at the Central Queensland Livestock Exchange (CQLX) at Gracemere.

The commercial focus of the competition is the grass roots of many operations. Breeds are yarded up alongside each other and this puts them in the competition spotlight, it sends a clear message comparatively to where they are at as a breed.

The sales attract livestock buyers and interested industry participants from all over Australia, ready to buy the competition winners.

Class descriptions have now been finalised, the 2018 competition has seen a restructure and reduction of fees which will be passed onto exhibitors after feedback from previous competitions.

The Feature Sale is once again being held on Monday 7th May, where all pens go under the hammer at CQLX Gracemere.

It is a day dedicated to the Commercial Cattle as it doesn’t clash with Stud Cattle Judging as per previous years.

The commercial cattle committee judge is considered carefully with a selection of judges that have comprehensive knowledge on current market specifications. These are relevant to both market drivers and modern production parameters which are both profitable for the producer and processor.
