Better muscled steers make 350-370c/kg at SELX

Jim Hindmarsh & Co topped the Heifer market with these Angus x Heifers sold on behalf of Bundanon, Nowra to a top of $1000ph.

The better shaped and muscled weaner steers sold from $740 to $1,020/head or 350c to 370c/kg at SELX last week.

There were around 210 cows with calves at foot yarded and a very mixed quality offering of mostly light 1 and 2 score weaners.

There was a small but good run of Angus yearling heifers, along with 50 very light bull calves.

Medium weight heifers sold from $600 to $900/head which equated to 260c to 290c/kg.

Yearling steers reached $830/head. Angus heifers sold to $1,000/head. The light bull calves sold between $460 and $690/head.

Murray Grey heifers with their first calf at foot reached $2,175 while most other cow and calf units ranged from $1,600 to $1,800/unit.
