Light and medium weight yearlings lift 8-20c/kg

Phill Butt, Butt Livestock and Property sold 2 Angus x cows to a top of 234c/kg, averaging 847.5kg, $1983 ph from a pen with 8 shorthorn cows which averaged $1677.49 ph on behalf of T Jones, Yass.

Light and medium weight yearlings to restockers lifted 8c to 20c, with steers reaching 323c/kg at SELX this week.

There was a slight increase in numbers and the quality was back a little with not as much weight offered.

There were plenty of yearlings in prime condition and with an extra feeder order operating, heavy weights were in demand. Grown steers were back in numbers and there were only 210 cows.

Light restocking steers sold to 351c and the few vealer heifers to the trade making from 285c to 295c/kg.

The heavy feeder steers were firm to 5c dearer, selling between 286c and 305c/kg.

Feeder heifers were firm, making from 277c to 295c/kg. Trade cattle prices lifted, ranging from 277c to 295c/kg.

Grown steers eased 2c to 8c, to range from 268c to 280c/kg. The better trade grown heifers remained firm, from 253c to 284c/kg.

Cows were firm to 4c/kg cheaper. The medium weight 2 scores sold from 195c to 222c/kg. Heavy 3 and 4 scores made 205c to 240c, to average 227c/kg. The best of the heavy bulls reached 290c/kg.
