In an exciting first the Power of Women in Dairying (POW) will be joining with Hats for Hope to run a country based version of Hats for Hope in Tatura on January 23, 2018.
Hats for Hope is an annual fashion parade featuring never-before-seen vintage Christian Dior hats from a private collection in Melbourne.
First established in 2016, The Power of Women in Dairy (POW) is a network forum for women in dairy to gather, network, be inspired and learn new skills and knowledge to assist them in their every-day lives. POW celebrates the strong, passionate and successful women in dairy as well as rewarding excellence and supporting younger women making their way within the industry.
In 2017 POW awarded the first scholarship to Clare Modra from Gunbower, Victoria. Clare will represent POW at World Dairy Expo in October 2018.
As well as raising funds for the next POW scholarship, the partnership will support and raise vital funds for suicide prevention projects at Orygen.
Orygen, the National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health, is the world’s leading research and knowledge translation organisation focusing on mental ill-health in young people.
This function will be held from 7.00 pm to 9.30 pm on Tuesday 23rd of January in Wilson Hall at Tatura Park, home to Australia’s International Dairy Week.
The evening will feature 2 guest speakers; a fashion parade of never before seen vintage Christian Dior Hats with ribbon sandwiches, nibbles and champagne/soft drinks provided.
Tickets for the evening are just $10.00 (which includes nibbles, drinks, guest speakers and the vintage Dior hat parade) with funds raised going towards Orygen and the second Bette Hall Power of Women in Dairy Excellence Award.
