Joined heifers top at $2300 on AuctionsPlus

Tas-cattleJoined females sold for an average of $1733, with the top price of $2300 going to a line of Angus/Friesian heifers out of Inman Valley in SA on AuctionsPlus.

These heifers have been joined to an Angus bull and are heading to Charleston, SA. The majority of cows and calf units listed this week sold, averaged $1911 and ranged from $1360 to $2680.

The top price went to Angus cows and calves from Kelvin, NSW. The cows were bred out of Dulverton and Wattletop blood, joined to Wagyu bulls, are 5-8 years old and are on their way to Gunnedah, NSW.

Cattle listed online dropped this week, totaling 9,212 head.  An average of 295 bidders logged in across our Eastern States and weaner sales, demonstrating strong interest in stock on the box.

Clearance rates dropped slightly to average 52% across the auctions, reflecting a drop in demand. Predicted warmer than average summer conditions for the south east and central parts of Australia may have swayed buyer confidence.

Our second Weaner and Yearling sale of the year saw 5200 head on the box, up 400 head from the previous sale.

Speckle park cows and calves out of Camden, NSW sold for $2480. These two year old girls are 525kg, joined to Limousin bulls and are heading to East Ballina, NSW.

Unjoined Red Angus heifers weighing 345kg from Bangor, TAS sold for $1200 or 347c/kg. These 12-14 month old heifers are of Pine Park blood, and are heading to Quoiba, TAS.

A good selection of steers were offered this week, with prices ranging from $765 to $1410. This top price went to a line of Gelbvieh/Simmental cross steers from Bagdad, TAS.

These steers are 10-12 months old, 398kg and found a buyer in Huonville, TAS. 9-10 month old Angus steers out of Penola, SA sold for $1378 or 333c/kg.

These steers are sired by Coolana and Glaetz Angus bulls, weigh 413kg,  and are heading to Newton, VIC.
