Trevor Corby, Taralga sold 10 Hereford Steers through Michael Hall Livestock & Property for 263c/kg, av 544.5kg, $1432.04ph.
Medium weight steers lifted 5c and sold from 255c to 288c/kg while feeder heifers gained 6c to 8c and sold from 237c to 278c/kg at SELX last week.
Cattle numbers lifted and the quality improved. There was an increase in weaners and heavy trade yearlings but feeder cattle were in the majority. Plainer grown steers under 500kg were better supplied and around 740 cows were penned.
Weaners eased 10c to 15c and sold from 200c to 260c/kg. The best of the heavy butcher vealers reached 280c/kg. Light feeder steers eased 10c while the medium weights lifted 5c and sold from 255c to 288c/kg. Feeder heifers gained 6c to 8c and sold from 237c to 278c/kg. Heavy trade steers ranged from 260c to 280c/kg.
Grown steers over 500kg eased 9c to processors and sold from 200c to 262c/kg. Restocking cows were up to 30c dearer selling between 115c and 162c/kg. The 2 score processing cows eased 9c to make from 130c to 152c and the heavy 3 and 4 scores were 4c to 9c cheaper to make from 152c to 195c to average 179c/kg.
