SELX-cattle-July-13

Agstock sold Angus x Steers on behalf of J&M Jamieson, Gundagai for 298c/kg, av 471.3kg, $1404.33ph.

Cows had the greatest improvement of the day increasing by 35c/kg at SELX yesterday.

Medium weight 2 score cows sold from 145c to 218c and the heavy 3 and 4 scores made from 210c to 261c, to average 243c/kg.
Numbers were back with quality mostly plain among young cattle.
Light weight cattle were in greatest supply and there were fewer restocking orders which saw prices ease. Once again, trade cattle were limited, along with steers and bullocks.
Cows were the highlight of the day as processors were after numbers and weight.
Young cattle sold to a cheaper trend, most due to quality, whereas grown steers and cows were dearer.

Weaners to restock eased 25c on the steers, selling from 246c to 260c for most, with a single pen reaching 290c/kg.

Heifers to feed sold from 180c to 245c/kg. Feeder steers eased 4c, to receive from 260c to 308c/kg. Light heifers to feed averaged 225c and medium weights reached 251c/kg.
Trade cattle held firm, selling from 266c to 280c/kg.

Grown steers sold from 290c to 296c and bullocks topped at 289c/kg.
