The Angus Australia Foundation awards two scholarships annually to give Angus Australia members the opportunity to participate in ALFA’s BeefEX Conference.
BeefEx is the feedlot industry’s major conference, hosted by the Australian Lot Feeders’ Association (ALFA). Held biennially, the event this year will be on 8 – 10 October and will draw together feedlot operators and their staff, nutritionists, veterinarians, regulators, service providers and others involved in the grain fed beef supply chain.
BeefEx attracts over 500 delegates from around the country for a celebration and showcase of the sector. Delegates walk away from this event informed, inspired, motivated and even better connected with their industry peers.
Topics for the conference this year include big data, consumer trends, markets, economics, production, finance and leadership. A diverse cohort of leading international and Australian speakers will present to participants at BeefEx, explaining how the latest thinking in these areas can be applied to feedlot and beef supply chain businesses.
The conference will also profile and reward leaders in the industry, with presentations including the Young Lot Feeder of the Year Award, Excellence in Feedlot Education Medal, Top Gun, Innovation Award and the Communicate Your Research Competition.
To be eligible for these scholarship’s, applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age and a current Angus Youth or Angus Australia financial member.
Each scholarship recipient will be provided with $1500 to help cover the costs associated with attending the conference, (for example; flights, accommodation and the conference registration fee).
