Joined females top at $1630 for Speckle Park cross

The top price was achieved by a small line of 3-4 year old Speckle Park/Santa Cows with CAF.

PTIC and joined females last week saw just 552 head listed on AuctionsPlus, with a majority of the listings coming out of NSW and topping at $1630.

Prices ranged from $895 to $1630 and averaged $1119, down $267 on last week.

The top price was achieved by a small line of 3-4 year old Speckle Park/Santa Cows with CAF.

These cows were offered by A/c ‘Big Star Speckle Park Stud’ Hillston, NSW, weigh 481kg and have been joined back to Speckle Park bulls.

Station mated Angus cows and calves offered from Dalton, NSW will be heading over 700kms to Pirron Yallock, VIC.

These cows are aged 6-10 years old, have been joined back to Angus bulls and made $1100. ‘Second Water Pastoral Co’ Barraba, NSW offered 51 PTIC Angus/Angus Cross cows aged 4-9 years, in calf to Wagyu Bulls and sold for $900.

Cow and calf numbers remained steady again this week with 513 head listed. Prices ranged from $850 to $1510, to average $1158, an increase of $97 on last week.

The top price was achieved by a line of 26-28 month old cows with Yarram Park blood CAF, A/c ‘Geddes Pastoral Co’ Holbrook, NSW.

A small line of Speckle Park/Angus first calvers with Tivoli Angus blood CAF made $1150, offered by A/c ‘Shannon Partnership’ Merriwa, NSW.

‘WP Organic Pastoral Company’, Goondiwindi, QLD offered two lines of Organic Certified heifers; 72 Angus and Angus X, weighing 211kg to return 211c/kg or $445, along with 16 Charolais X heifers, weighing 192kg to return 188c or $360.

From Bourke, NSW, 38 yearling Santa Gertrudis heifers weighing 232kg returned 181c or $420. A line of 90 Angus heifers aged 11 months and weighing 201kg, from Guyra, NSW made 228c or $460.

While ‘Tivoli Angus’ Merriwa, offered 90 Angus future breeders over 3 lots. Weighing 324kg, these heifers returned 293c or $950 and all 90 head were purchased out of Western Victoria.

‘JLSM Farming Trust’, Tamworth, NSW offered 38 yearling Angus steers weighing 291kg to return 305c or $890. Similarly, from Binnaway, NSW, a line of 122 weaned Angus steers weighing 253kg returned 308c or $780.

‘Diamond Jay Management’, Singleton, NSW, offered 44 Angus and Angus X vealer steers, aged 5-6 months, EU accredited and weighing 178kg, to return 225c or $400.

While from Holbrook, NSW, 68 Poll Hereford steers aged 11-12 months and weighing 292kg returned 300c or $875.

Out of Tasmania this week, 2 small lines of Angus weaned steers and heifers were offered by A/c ‘Lawrence Lee Family Trust’ from Scottsdale.

The heifers are 10-12 months old and weigh 365kgs, selling for 361c/kg or $1,010. The steers are the same age and weigh 403kgs, returning 330c/kg or $1,220.
