The Australian Shorthorn Family invites you to the 2019 World Conference & Tour.
The Pre-Conference tour starts Monday 23rd September 2019 with 3 nights in Adelaide, during this time you will view Bayview Stud, Bundaleer Stud & Carlton Stud.
While in SA the home of some of Australia’s best wine, you will visit one of the oldest & best wineries, Yalumba (Est 1849)
From here you will travel to Mt Gambier via Belmore Stud. You will be spending 2 nights in Mt Gambier visiting Shepherd’s Noola Stud & the famous Blue Lakes at Mt Gambier.
The tour will then proceed to Ballarat Victoria, visiting the Eloora Stud & Rockgrove Stud. Following this will be the Royal Melbourne Show, with the Shorthorn judging taking place Sunday September 29th 2019. 2 dairy herds in the Gippsland district will be visited, followed by a visit to the world-famous Phillip Island Penguin Parade.
From Melbourne we travel to Griffith (NSW) viewing a restored heritage wool shed at the Tataila Stud near Echuca on the Murray River.
Near Griffith we will visit a JBS feedlot where the Thousand Guineas Shorthorns are fed. We then travel to Wagga Wagga via Spry’s Stud where the 2 day conference (3rd & 4th October 2019) will be held at the Charles Sturt University. With ‘Meating the Future’ as our theme, Excellent speakers & lively (we hope) discussions & a visit to the University Veterinary School being organised.
Following Wagga Wagga the post conference tour will feature The Shorthorn Youth Expo being held in Dubbo which includes their annual Heifer Show.
Other Studs are then visited on the way to Sydney via Coonabarabran & Tamworth.
The tour will conclude with a Sydney Harbour cruise & final dinner on Thursday 10th October 2019. A further post conference tour will follow in Tasmania for 4 nights.
