Cow and calf units were offered out of NSW and Victoria with 1,866 head sold at a top of $1690 on AuctionsPlus.
The average price was $1,208/hd and $30 up on the previous week. A small line of 10 Angus cross heifers out of Piallaway, NSW were sold for $1,620.
The top price went to a line of Speckle Park cross cows out of Yass, NSW, which brought $1,690.
Further value of cow and calf units was seen with a small lot of 5 Angus/Hereford, 6 to 10 years old were sold for $880 out of Deepwater, NSW.
The lighter end of steers on offer had plenty of value, with 2,162 head offered, weaner steers averaged 207kg and 288c/kg live.
This was seen in a large line of 115 Angus steers out of Holbrook, NSW. They averaged 189kg and were sold for $570 or 302c on farm.
Their lighter brothers also achieved top dollar with these 149kg steers receiving $410 or 276c on farm.
Two lines of Angus/Hereford steers out of Walcha, NSW, were sold for $1,125 or 321c on farm.
These steers were 13 to 14 months of age and weigh 351kg.
Another notable line of Angus cross steers from Cecil Plains, QLD, brought $700 or 232c live on farm. These steers weighed 302kg and were 18 to 24 months of age.
Unjoined heifers had 1,363 head offered. Prices of weaner heifers strengthened averaging 247c/kg and yearling heifers prices eased to average 233c/kg.
Top price was received by a small lot of 10 Angus yearling heifers from Plenty, TAS. These heifers returned $1,220 or 295c.
Another line of Hereford feeder heifer’s out of Benalla, VIC, sold for $700 or 198c. These heifers are 354kg and 16 to 18 months of age.
