Angus heifers and their calves from Booragul Angus sold for $2750.

Cow and calf listings came predominately from NSW, with 1,681 head listed and the average price achieved of $1208/hd on AuctionsPlus last week.

From Euroa, VIC, a line of Angus cows & calves returned the top price of $1,620.

These cows are 30-32 months old, weighing 503kgs with 4-6 week old CAF. This line is also travelling 600km to Parrakie, SA. From Bombala, NSW, a line of Angus cows and calves which returned $1080, are set to travel across the pond to Tasmania.

Another highlight saw a line of 7 Charolais/Composite cows and calves return $1,140. These cows are 4-5 years, weighing 527kgs with 1-3 month old CAF, sired by Angus bulls.

While a line of 15 Angus NSM Heifers & 15 calves, offered by Booragul Angus, at Piallaway, NSW returned $2,750.

These heifers are 25-26 months old, with Angus-sired, 1-2-month-old calves at foot. This line will travel to Salt Ash, NSW.

From Aramac, a line of 11 PTIC Santa Gertrudis cows sold for $650. Weighing 420kgs, these cows are 3-8 years and joined to Santa bulls. This line will travel over 1000km to Kureelpa, QLD.

While a line of 32 PTIC Limousin cows from Nundle, NSW returned $675. These cows are 3-12 years old and weigh 532kgs.

They are joined to Limousin bulls and are making the short journey just over the border to Goondiwindi, QLD.

Weaned heifers weighing up to 300kgs averaged 237c, selling to a top of 282c. From Binnaway, NSW a line of 120 Angus heifers returned the top price.

These heifers are bred from Wattletop, Eastern Plains and Bald Blair Angus bloodlines, are 11-12 months and weigh 227kgs. This line was purchased by a QLD buyer at Meandarra.

While a line of 20 Angus heifers, weighing 277kgs from Penshurst, VIC which returned 253c or $700 will travel to Tasmania.

From Pemberton, WA a line of 76 Angus cross yearling heifers returned 536c/kg dressed or $1,374. Weighing 482kgs, these heifers are 14-16 months.

Also offered by the same vendor were a small line of 4 mixed sex trade cattle which sold for 460c/kg dressed or $1,543.

This line are 20-24 months and weigh 621kgs. Yearling heifer numbers were boosted by a significant offering of nearly 500 head from ‘Romani Pastoral Company’, Quirindi.

A 100% clearance was achieved for the vendor, with Angus backgrounder heifers averaging 290c or $633, topping at $635.

The 384 Angus heifers are 12-13 months, bred from Rennylea Angus bulls and weigh 218kgs. Also offered were a line of 53 Angus/Hereford backgrounder heifers, weighing 219kgs which sold for 241c or $530.

Weaned steers weighing up to 300kgs averaged 253c, selling to a top of 282c. The top price was returned by a line of 90 Charolais cross steers from Condamine, QLD.

These steers are 10-14 months and weigh 281kgs. Tasmanian buyers remained active, securing a line of 109 Hereford steers for 253c or $675. These steers are 10-12 months, weighing 266kgs from Narrandera, NSW.

Another highlight saw a line of 85 Angus feeder steers return 307c or $1,330. These steers are 12-13 months and are bred from Barwidgee, Coolana & Weeran blood. Weighing 432kgs, these steers will travel nearly 700km to Burra, SA.
