The top price for PTIC Heifers on AuctionsPlus was $1,120 and was achieved by a line of 11, 15 to 17 month old Angus heifers A/C ‘LG & GM Brown’, Mudgegonga VIC.
These heifers averaged 450kg and were PTIC to Hicks Black Composite bulls.
A line of 57, 6 to 8 year old Shorthorn cows A/C ‘Gundibri Pty Ltd’, Merriwa NSW reached the top price of $745 for PTIC Cows. These cows were PTIC to Shorthorn and Composite bulls.
Last week saw a total offering of 2,182 cow and calf units with stock listed from QLD, NSW and VIC.
The top price for cows and calves was $1,950 and was achieved by a line of 9 Angus Cows A/C ‘Brighton Farm Partnership’, Mudgee NSW.
These cows were 38 to 40 months old with young angus calves at foot (CAF) sired by Tucklan Valley Angus bulls, they will be staying local at Mudgee.
Looking at the older aged cows, the top price achieved was $1,800 and was reached by a line of 20 Station Mated Cows & Calves A/C ‘DR & NJ Harbison’, Cudal NSW.
These cows were 4 to 7 years old with Angus CAF and joined back to Angus bulls, they’ll be heading for a sea change to The Oaks, NSW.
The two Weaner & Yearling sales achieved a combined clearance of 50% for a total of 6,857 head. The top price achieved across the two sales was $1,445 or 324c/kg.
This price was achieved by a line of 54 Angus Feeder Steers A/C ‘MR & DS Clapham’, Mudgee NSW, aged 15-20 months and weighing 445kgs.
A line of 113 NSM Future Breeders A/C ‘Jacobs Resources PTY LTD’, Goolma NSW, fetched the top price for this category, reaching $1,050 or 302c/kg.
These Angus heifers were 17 to 20 months old, weighing 348kg and will be making their way to Mudgee NSW.
Yearling steers were topped by a line of 43 Hereford Yearling Steers A/C ‘Kobyboyn Partnership’, Seymour VIC, reaching a price of $1,165 or 289c/kg. These steers were 14-15 months old weighing 402kg and will be heading on a boat to Smithton TAS.
A total of 194 head were listed in WA this week with a clearance rate of 96% achieved.
Young stock averaged $914 and topped at $1,332 or 511c/kg. The top price was achieved by a line of 11, 15 to 16 month old mixed sex Angus yearlings A/C ‘Rockbridge Holdings’, Quinninup WA. These steers weighed in at 260kg dressed and were a mixture of Angus, Hereford and Murray Grey.
This week saw the interface of the Skibo Downs Complete Herd Dispersal with a total of 1,084 head across 78 lots, achieving a 100% clearance rate.
Cows and Calves average $1,258 with a top price of $1,940, achieved by a line of 12, 2 to 3 year old cows with CAF.
Joined stock averaged $982 and reached a top of $1,460 for a line of 11, 5 to 6 year old PTIC cows. Weaned stock averaged $590 and topped at $880 for a line of 5 to 8 month old composite weaner steers.
