This draft of joined Merino ewes from Old Cobran topped the market.

Scanned in lamb Merino ewes achieved a clearance of 78% selling from $106 to $243, averaging $189 on AuctionsPlus last week.

A/c ‘Old Cobran Pastoral Pty Ltd’ Albury, NSW offered 7 lines in this category with the lines of 156 and 217 achieved the top price.

These ewes are Old Cobran Pastoral blood, weigh 56kgs freshly shorn, aged 4-5 years, are joined to Poll Dorset rams and were purchased from a local buyer.

From Mantung, SA a line of 220 SIL Poll Merino ewes sold for $191. These ewes are Borung blood, weigh 52kgs, 23-25 months, SIL to Poll Merino rams and will travel interstate to Swan Hill, VIC.

Selling from $75 to $165 non-station mated Merino ewes averaged $128. From Kyalite, NSW a line of 270 Merino ewes, A/c ‘Warrawee Pastoral Co’ achieved the top price. Weighing 39kgs, these ewes are Tamaleuca blood, 10-11 months, with a 1 ¾” skin and will remain in NSW.

Supply of Merino wethers increased this week to 10,509 head with the category achieving 96% clearance. Merino wether lambs sold from $84.5 to $142, averaging $115. A line of 318 store wether lambs A/c ‘PA Cornwell & Co’ from Clare, SA achieved the top price.

These lambs are 40kgs, Aug/Sep 18’ drop and will remain in SA. Whilst grown wethers sold from $101.50 to $150, averaging $133.

From Walgett, NSW a line of 600 woolgrowether wethers A/c ‘DM & ME Hartog’ achieved top price. These wethers are Wilgunya blood, weigh 43kgs, 26-27 months, have a 2 ½’ skin and will remain in NSW.

Scanned in lamb first cross ewes sold from $181 to $252 and averaged $223. From Condobolin, NSW a line of 210 ewes, A/c ‘M & N Leighton’ achieved top price.

These ewes are Dunnield blood, aged 2-3 years, weighing 62kgs, SIL to dorset rams and were purchased locally. From Maroona, VIC a line of 120 ewes sold for $232.

These ewes are 2.5 – 3.5 years old, weigh 72kgs, are joined to Dorset rams and will travel across the border to Wagga Wagga, NSW.

First cross ewe lambs sold from $144 to $200 averaging $177. The top price was achieved by a line of 62 future breeder ewe lambs A/c ‘J.C Hamblin’ Matong, NSW.

The ewes are Jul/Aug 18’ drop, 58kgs, with a 1” skin and will remain in NSW. From Glenhope, VIC a line of 115 ewe lambs sold for $165. These ewes are 43kgs, May/Jun 18’ drop, with a 2” skin and will remain locally.

Crossbred lambs sold from 337c to 461c, averaging 399c. The top price was achieved by a line of 225 mixed sex White Suffolk/Merino store lambs from Nyngan, NSW.

These lambs are 27kgs, Jul/Aug 18’ drop with a 1 ¾” skin and will remain in NSW. From Boggabilla, NSW a line of 162 dorper mixed sex lambs sold for 364c. These lambs are 25kgs, Jan/Feb 19’ drop and will travel across the border to Cohuna, VIC.

Ewes with lambs at foot sold from $130 to $174. From Boggabilla, NSW 120 dorper ewes with 102 lambs at foot achieved top price.

The ewes weigh 59kgs, are aged 2-8 years with a 2” skin whilst the lambs at foot are sired by Dorper rams and aged 2-10 weeks.
