These unweaned Angus/Shorthorn cross steers from Tasmania topped at 337c/kg.

Weaner steers fell 8c to average 293c, selling from 208c to 337c on AuctionsPlus last week.

From Lemont, TAS the top price was returned by a line of 10 unweaned Angus/Shorthorn cross steers offered A/c “Fonthill Farm”. Weighing 237kgs and aged 7 – 8 months these steers will travel to Glen Huon, TAS.

Weaner heifers sold from 177c to 284c and averaged 241c, which is a decrease of 6c from last week.

The same vendor from Lemont, TAS, achieved the top price with a line of 21 unweaned Poll Hereford/Angus/Shorthorn cross heifers. These heifers are 204kgs, 7 – 8 months of age and will travel to Smithon, TAS.

Yearling and grown steers fell 10c to average 298c, selling from 270c to 346c. The top price was achieved by a line of 75 feeder Angus steers from Walcha, NSW offered A/c “Glen Collin Pastoral Co”.

These steers are 436kgs, 17 – 20 months of age and are EU accredited.

Yearling and grown heifers fell 18c to average 223c, selling from 210c to 255c. The top price was achieved by a line of 21 Angus NSM future breeders from Kangarilla, SA offered A/c “Griguol Nominees”.

These Boonarkm blood heifers are 318kgs, 14 – 15 months of age and will travel to Yankalillia, SA.

Joined females were in high supply with 1,435 head offered but were in low demand with a 34% clearance achieved.

Prices increased on last week by $110 to average $1148, selling from $960 to $1420. The top price was achieved by a line of 26 PTIC Angus cows from Briagolong, VIC offered A/c “J Mosley”.

These cows are 635kgs, 4 – 5 years of age, Millah Murrah blood, and are 5 -7 months in calf to Angus bulls.

Highlights in cow and calf units include a line of 54 station mated Angus cows and calves from Mannus, NSW offered A/c “GK & D Daniel”, selling for $1410.

These Rennylea blood cows are 371kgs, 3.5 – 4.5 years and are joined to Angus bulls. The calves at foot are 1 – 2 months old, are sired by Angus bulls and will travel to Cootamundra, NSW.

Cows sold from $623 to $1402 and averaged $951. The top price was returned by a line of 70 slaughter heifers and cows from Mayanup, WA.

These South Devon heifers and cows are 648kgs, 30 – 95 months of age, offered A/c “S C Nix” and assessed by Col Thexton.
