Farmers across the Mallee and North Central are invited to take part in a series of free workshops aimed at helping them match their pasture grazing and other feed to maximise livestock production.
Dr Paul Cusack will be the expert presenter. He is a cattle veterinarian, consultant, ruminant nutritionist and beef producer, with post-graduate training in the intensive and extensive ruminant industries.
He is currently director of Australian Livestock Production Services, owner/manager of a cattle trading enterprise, and adjunct Associate Professor at Charles Sturt University.
Dr Cusack said the practical workshops will discuss ways to ensure the energy, protein and fibre requirements of animals are met.
“The workshops “Matching feed to livestock goals” will cover practical ways to help fill feed gaps and how to best utilise your pasture base. We will also discuss the transition back to pasture when we do have paddock feed available again,” he said.
