PTIC heifer and cow listings dropped by 684 head to total 1,929 on AuctionsPlus.

PTIC heifer prices continue to improve, selling from $1,070 to $1,380 and averaging $1,281. PTIC cows sold from $850 to $1,720 and averaged $1,161, up $61.

The top price was achieved by a line of 48 Angus cows from Coolah, NSW. These cows are PTIC to Angus bulls, are 3 year old and will head to Adjungbilly, NSW.

A line of 77 mixed age Santa Gertrudis cows from Winton, QLD sold for $1,360. These cows are PTIC to Santa bulls and will travel to South Australia. Account ‘Boonerah Pty Ltd’ Hexham, VIC sold 3 lines of Rennylea blood PTIC heifers for $1,370 and $ 1,380. These heifers are 23-24 months of age and are PTIC to Angus bulls.

Cow and calf numbers remained steady this week, with 210 head offered. A/c ‘Walker & Co’ Winton, QLD listed 147 mixed age SM Santa Gertrudis cows with 140kg CAF, which sold for $1350. ‘Walker & Co’ also offered 3 lots of PTIC cows which averaged $1263 and all 4 lots were purchased out of SA.  In Texas, QLD, 31 mixed age Limousin/Braford X Cows with CAF sold for $1,210 and will travel across the border to Dunedoo.

Steers weighing 280kgs and under sold from 260c to 335c, averaging 300c, up 29c on last week.

Highlights include; 89 Angus weaned steers aged 9-12 months, weighing 250kgs from Goondiwindi, QLD selling for 319c; 58 Angus weaned steers aged 10-11 months, weighing 273kgs from Goulburn, NSW selling for 335c; 114 Angus backgrounder steers aged 8-15 months, weighing 198kgs from Burra, SA selling for 255c; 11 Angus weaned steers aged 9-10 months, weighing 245kgs from Chudleigh, TAS selling for 309c.

Steers weighing between 280kgs and 330kgs sold from 245c to 320c, averaging 308c, up 2c on last week.

The top price was achieved by 56 Angus yearling steers from Nundle, NSW.

The steers are 11-12 months, weigh 323kgs and were purchased locally. Other highlights include; 55 Charolais weaned steers aged 8-9 months, weighing 312c from Goondiwindi, QLD selling for 294c; 15 Angus weaned steers aged 11-12 months, weighing 301kgs from Cudgewa, VIC selling for 320c.

Steers weighing 330kgs and above sold from 300c to 340c, averaging 326c, up 7c on last week. The top price was achieved by 12-14 month old, 338kg Angus feeder steers A/c ‘Yammatree Family Trust’, Cootamundra.

Similarly, 80 Angus weaned steers from Cudgewa, VIC, aged 11-12 months and weighing 350kgs returned 335c and will travel to Burra, SA. 33 Angus feeder steers from Bylong, NSW sold for 319c. The steers are aged 12-13 months and weigh 365kgs.

Lighter heifers weighing under 280kgs sold from 211c to 295c, averaging 245c, up 29c on last week. The top price was achieved by 38 Angus weaned heifers from Woodstock, NSW. The heifers are 9-10 months and weigh 262kgs.

Other highlights include; 99 Charolais/Charbray weaned heifers aged 6-7 months, weigh 229kgs from Goondiwindi, QLD selling for 239c; 71 Angus backgrounder heifers aged 8-15 months, weigh 198kgs from Burra, SA selling for 255c.

Heifers weighing over 280kgs sold from 194c to 272c and averaged 263c. The top price was achieved by 48 NSM future breeders from Cassilis, NSW.

The heifers are 21-22 months and weigh 379kgs and will travel to Bulart, VIC. 34 Limousin/Charbray weaned heifers from Goondiwindi sold for 253c.

The heifers are aged 8-9 months, weigh 312kgs and will travel to Rochester, VIC.
