With the July 2019 proof run we see another Holstein herd put itself forward with 5 of the top 20 new heifers.
Barry Coster from Bellbrook Holsteins says: “This is a PB for us and it’s great to see our prefix mixing it with the best. This also doesn’t come from just one cow family but five different families which really gives us plenty of options to work with.”
The July run also shows some consistency in the bulls coming through with the likes of Chairman and Jeronimo featuring multiple daughters in the last couple of runs.
Genetic Services manager Rohan Butler says: “It’s great to see new herds mixing it with the regulars and with the number of samples starting to rise this Spring is going to be exciting – hopefully we will see some new young heifers really challenge the top cows list.”
