Shorthorn youth a finalist in CCA Rising Champions

Shorthorn-beefShorthorn Youth Vice President, Chelsea Rayner has been selected as a finalist in the 2020 CCA & NAB Agribusiness Rising Champion Initiative.

The program is designed to support and recognise, young and passionate participants within the Australian Beef Industry.

Chelsea is a 21-year-old Simmental breeder based in Sheffield, Tasmania. Having been around beef cattle all her life, she has always been interested in commercial beef production, and was actively involved in cattle handling programs in secondary school. Chelsea is planning to become a livestock agent, specialising in stud stock.

The program has a strong focus on developing leadership, negotiations and business skills and is an important avenue for young beef industry professionals to further develop their networks and skills.

One finalist is selected from each of the 7 states, with the finalists them participating in a 3 day intensive leadership program in Canberra in August this year.
