A huge crowd overflowed the Shepparton Selling Centre for the Final Stage Complete Dispersal Sale of Paringa Holsteins owned by Pam Malcolm.
This well-known herd had been established more than 70 years and presented a well grown line of heifers and two young bulls.
Sale top of $15,000 was paid for lot 8, Paringa Solomon Applepie who sold very close to calving to sexed Tatoo, this smart heifer was backed by 9 from 10 generations of EX dams, she sold to L & L Calder of Calderlea Holsteins of Meeniyan.
Next top price of $13,000 was reached twice for the pair of daughters of the 2016 IDW Grand Champion Paringa Fever Opa, lot 17 Paringa Solomon Optima selling to K & H Jones of Foster and lot 18 Paringa Bradnick Opal selling to N & M Staley of Y arram.
The first animal to sell, Paringa Goldchip Alanna, the Junior Champion of the 2019 IDW Youth Show sold at $12,000 to Elm Banks Holsteins of Crossley.
Many keen Breeders were loud in praise for Paringa Guthrie Niarre backed by 9 generations of EX & VG dams, she sold at $10,200 to Whyndell Holsteins, these buyers also selected Paringa Byway Zazoo at $9,100.
The Buchanan Family of Cobram selected the exceptional heifer Paringa Bradnick Zanui who sold close to sexed Tatoo at $10,000 and Paringa Bankroll Zayna at $9,000.
Return buyers were the strength of the sale with most lots selling to Breeders who had purchased at previous Paringa sales, these included Paringa Guthrie Locket selling at $9,600 to B & J Somerville of Nanneella, Paringa Monterey Pendant at $8,000 to K & H Jones of Foster and Paringa Beemer Foxie from a 17,000 litre dam selling at $7,600 to Eloora Pastoral who selected 15 heifers throughout the sale.
Selling agents Dairy Livestock Services report – 67 Heifers av $4,527, 2 Bulls av $3,950, 69 Holsteins gross $311,200, Av $4,510.
Buyers were from all parts of Victoria along with NSW, SA & Tas for a total clearance.
