Heavy heifers over 330kgs returned an average price of 307c, up 12c, with prices ranging from 280c to 313c on AuctionsPlus.
The top price was achieved by 4 lots of 96 Angus feeder heifers from Hay NSW. The offering was part of 1600 Angus cattle offered by ‘TJ Henwood Family Trust’, which achieved a 100% clearance and largely sold to Victorian buyers.

PTIC cows sold from $800 to $1,750, averaging $1,104, up $25. This week saw majority of numbers flow from Western & Southern Queensland and from the Central West of New South Wales.

The top price was returned by a line of 20 Simmental cows from Geurie, NSW. These cows are 6-8 years, weigh 674kgs and are PTIC to Simmental bulls. From Cunnamulla, QLD a line of 17 Romagnola Cross cows returned $1,500.

These mixed aged cows weigh 628kgs, are PTIC to Romagnola bulls and found a local buyer. While from Mudgee, NSW a single line of PTIC heifers sold for $910. These Angus heifers are 24 months, weigh 386kgs, PTIC to Angus bulls and will travel to a buyer in Gippsland VIC.

Cows with calves at foot increased by 80 head, to 456 listed. Prices ranged from $900 to $2,320, averaging $1,409, down $42 on last week.

The top price was returned by a line of 22 Cluden Newry & Londavra blood Angus cows, 2 years and weighing 430kgs from Cranbrook, TAS. The CAF are Angus-sired, 10-16 weeks and average 143kgs. From Naracoorte, SA a line of 23 Angus cows & 24 calves returned $1,800 to a buyer across the border in Swan Hill, VIC.

Weighing 490kgs, these cows are 3-4 years with 6-7 month old Angus CAF averaging 217kgs. While a line of 23 Charolais cows & calves from Oakey, QLD sold for $1,720.

These cows are 3-4 years and weigh 581kgs, while the CAF average 100kgs and are 3-15 weeks old. From Narrabri, NSW a line of 34 Angus/Shorthorn cross cows & calves achieved $1,420.

These first calvers are 2-3 years with 1-3 week old Angus-sired CAF. Finally, from Strathdownie, VIC a line of 7-9 year old Angus cows with Te Mania blood Angus calves, 3-5 months old returned $1,110.

Demand for light steers under 200kg remained strong, with the average price rising by 27c to 317c and prices ranging from 278c to 327c.

From Glencoe, NSW a line of 65 Hereford cross steers, 9-11 months and weighing 172kgs, achieved the top price to a buyer in QLD. While from Southern NSW, 26 Angus cross steers, weighing 170kgs from Wantabadgery sold for 322c.

Steers weighing between 200-280kgs sold from 285c to 358c, averaging 322c, steady on last week. The top price was returned by 44 Angus cross steers, 7-8 months old and weighing 210kgs a from Bridgewater, VIC.

From Guyra, NSW a line of 60 Angus cross steers weighing 261kgs returned 337c and from Springsure, QLD 130 Senapol/Composite cross steers at 202kgs and 8-10 months sold for 311c.

Selling from 270c to 400c, steers weighing between 280-300kgs averaged 317c, which slipped another 5c.

The top price went to a line of 54 Angus cross steers, 11-12 months and weighing 287kgs from Highlands, VIC.

Other highlights saw 15 Hereford steers weighing 302kgs from Meander, TAS sell for 393c; 111 Angus steers weighing 315kgs from Exeter, NSW return 345c; and 139 Santa Gertrudis cross steers at 285kgs from Blackall, QLD sell for 292c.

Steers weighing above 330kgs averaged 304c, down 23c on last and sold from 248c to 352c. From Nariel Valley, VIC 43 Angus steers, Llandarlo blood and weighing 373kgs achieved the top price.

While from Merriwa, NSW a line of 71 Charolais/Shorthorn feeders, weighing 333kgs sold for 307c.

Light heifers under 200kgs sold from 230c to 313c, to average 268c, up 22c on last week. The top price was returned by a line of 50 Angus cross heifers from Bridgewater, VIC.

These heifers are 7-8 months, weigh 198kgs and found a Victorian buyer. From Dubbo, NSW a line of 120 Angus heifers, weighing 172kgs sold for 289c, while 20 Hereford cross heifers from Naracoorte, SA returned 271c.

Averaging 266c, down 18c, heifers weighing from 200-280kgs sold from 220c to 297c. The top price went to a line of 55 Angus heifers weighing 261kgs from Dubbo, NSW. Another highlight saw 102 Angus heifers from Condamine, QLD sell for 269c.

Heifers between 280-330kgs sold from 218c to 327c, averaging 263c. From Geurie, NSW a line of 30 Simmental heifers weighing 280kgs returned the top price and 43 Angus cross heifers from Millmerran, QLD weighing 317kgs sold for 264c.
