Due to the ongoing severe drought and total lack of forage crops and grass in the greater Darling Downs area, The Prime Unled Cattle Section of the Allora Show, to be held on February 7 2020 is considering a need to cancel the said section unless they receive urgent outside assistance.
The Committee are appealing to producers to consider entering cattle in The Prime Unled Cattle categories to ensure that this section continues to run for the 2020 Allora Show.
Any support would be greatly appreciated. It is only $5 (GST Inclusive) for Entry Fee per class. Cash and prizes and trophies are yet to be fully sorted/edited, as there are still a few late sponsorship to be finalized.
At this stage, there is approximately over $2000 in cash and prizes to be won throughout The Prime Cattle Section.
Classes include:
Heifers: up to 280kg; 281kg up to 330kg; 331kg and over.
Steers: up to 280kg; 281kg up to 330kg; 331kg up to 400kg; 401kg up to 480kg; 481kg and over.
Pen of two vealers up to 280kg
Pen of two yearlings 281kg up to 330kg
Pen of two steer 331kg up to 400kg
Champion Female of the show, Champion vealer from classes 1,2,4,5,8 & 10
Champion grain fed beast; Champion grass fed beast; Champion steer and Grand champion prime beast of show.
