Cows and calves on the rise to $2440

The top price was returned by a line of rising 5 year old, Te Mania blood Angus cows & calves, (pictured) A/c ‘Tonga Station’, Mansfield, VIC.
The CAF are 3-4 months old and average 145kgs. The line was part of a total offering of 193 head from ‘Tonga Station’ which saw prices from $1,820 to $2,440 a 100% clearance achieved. While from Bombala, NSW a line of Rennylea blood Angus heifers & calves returned $1,870.
These heifers are rising 3 years, with 3-4 month old CAF weighing on average 134kgs. Highlights from the North saw a line of Simbrah cows & calves from Blackall, QLD sell for $1,440. These cows are 4-5 years old, with Charolais-sired calves weighing 140kgs.
PTIC cows sold from $810 to $2,110 to average $1,649. From Kerrisdale, VIC ‘Larnoo Agricultural Investments’ offered a line of 20 cows, PTIC to Paringa Angus bulls and rising 4 years old which returned the top price.
The vendor offered 222 head in total, with prices from $1,800 to $2,110 and an 80% clearance seen. While from Forbes, NSW a line of 44 Te Mania blood PTIC cows, rising 3 years old and weighing 518kgs sold for $1,950.
PTIC heifers averaged $1,536, selling from $1,000 to $2,040. From Mansfield, VIC, ‘Tonga Station’ offered a line of 22 Angus heifers, 27-28 months old and PTIC to Te Mania Angus bulls which sold for the top price to a buyer from Kyneton, VIC. Other highlights include; from Blayney, NSW a line of 9 Angus heifers, 16-18 months old returned $1,500 and 12 PTIC Angus heifers, 19-21 months old from Pemberton, WA achieved $2,000.
Light steers under 200kgs sold for 385c for a single line of 26 Angus cross steer calves, 3-5 months old and weighing 181kgs from Moree, NSW.
Steers weighing between 200-280kgs sold from 221c to 355c, to average 303c, up 6c on last week. Returning the top price was a line of 4 Angus weaners, 5-6 months old and weighing 263kgs from Pemberton, WA.
Highlights from the East saw Angus steers weighing 204kgs from Dungowan, NSW return 327c; Angus steers weighing 263kgs from Molyullah, VIC sell for 326c and Angus/Brangus X steers from Wandoan, QLD make 272c.
Steers weighing 280-330kgs averaged 330c, up 16c and sold from 272c to 370c. From Stowport, TAS a line of 12 Angus calves weighing 281kgs achieved the top price. While from Forbes, NSW a line of 7-8 month old Angus steers weighing 295kgs sold for 362c and 9-10 month old Angus steers weighing 323kgs from Molyullah, VIC sold for 330c.
Heavier steers weighing 330-400kgs sold from 257c to 331c, and returned an average of 307c, down 1c on last week. From Granya, VIC a line of Angus steers, 9-10 months old and weighing 332kgs sold for the top price.
Steers over 400kgs sold from 303c to 309c, averaging 305c, down 5c on last week. The top price was returned by a line of Angus vealers, 10-11 months old and weighing 455kgs from Pemberton, WA.
