Both the Sprys and Belmore Shorthorn studs will be offering their autumn catalogues using the online AuctionsPlus format, a format that worked exceptionally well for last month’s Naracoorte Shorthorn Sale.
Sale days will still be open to attendance by prospective purchasers, however anyone who is in a higher risk category for COVID-19 or who may be feeling unwell is strongly encouraged to use either an agent through phone bidding or the AuctionsPlus platform.
Buyers will be required to fill in their contact details before entering the sale and only genuine bidders are encouraged to attend.
These are extraordinary times for everyone, and they require extraordinary measures to help ensure that the necessary protocols, such as social distancing, are met.
However, seedstock producers are taking every step possible to ensure that the clients are still able to access the quality genetics they need.
The first step is to encourage prospective purchasers to take the opportunity to inspect the sale bulls in the weeks prior to the auction. Inspections are still available by appointment and they allow clients to safely inspect their prospective purchases.
The second step is to ensure that buyers are able to compete in comfort, without having to physically attend the sale. This can be done by organizing for phone bidding through their agents or by purchasing through the online AuctionsPlus system.
The third step is to ensure that all the necessary protocols are met when buyers attend the sales. So, if you are attending these sales, please ensure that you follow the direction of the vendors and their agents.
