The Australian Limousin Breeders Society, The Australian Simmental Breeders Association and The Shorthorn Society of Australia are proud to announce the commencement of a new business, Genetic Hub.
The new business will provide finance and data administration, registrar and member services for all three societies, creating a single business model will allow the societies to provide greater efficiency and effectiveness for members.
The new business will commence in Armidale, NSW on July 1 2020, under the capable hands of Kylie Winnell, appointed Executive Officer. Discussion’s are ongoing and every effort will be made to retain existing registrar staff from each society.
“From the breeders view point very little will change externally, Genetic Hub will continue to provide the same services currently offered by your Society” Kylie Winnell said.
The new entity would not be responsible for breed unique strategic or technical services.
Each society will maintain its own independence, however services such as accounts, registrations, inventory, DNA services and all other services will be provided by Genetic Hub.
The majority of these services are duplicated by each Society, a single business model will provide greater efficiencies.
While this model was new for Australia, similar models had proved extremely effective in New Zealand, where their Performance Beef Breeders (PBB) platform, operates along similar lines.
Given the impacts of the recent drought, this process is considered important, however it is also critical that each society be able to deliver improved services to members as a result.
Genetic Hub is managed by a board consisting of two current board members from each Society, the board will continue to provide updates to all members.
