After several years of dedicated service to the Jason Catts and Brett Rowland have both moved onto follow their own endeavors.
Both men were tireless contributors to Shorthorn Beef and both will be sorely missed. Jason Catts had served as Shorthorn Beef President and Technical Director, whilst Brett Rowland had served as Shorthorn Beef Treasurer.
However, Mrs Amanda Barlow, Toogimbie Shorthorns and Reg Woodiwiss, Royston Shorthorns have been appointed by the Shorthorn Beef board to fill the board vacancies following the 2020 AGM.
Amanda and Steve Barlow are principals of Toogimbie Shorthorns, based at “Gulpha” Station at Mathoura in Southern NSW.
Steve and Amanda Barlow established Toogimbie Shorthorns in 1994. From an original group of ten cows and one bull, they have developed a high quality self-replacing herd of over 300 top quality Shorthorn cows.
Sourcing top Australian genetics to do this and purchasing high quality Shorthorn bulls and cows from some of Australia’s top Shorthorn studs.
Reg and Rebecca Woodiwiss are principals of Royston Shorthorns, Sunnyside, Tasmania. Reg is also a well-known livestock agent in Tasmania and co-principal of Webb & Woodiwiss Agency.
Royston Shorthorns have invested heavily in top shelf Shorthorn genetics in recent years and are in the process of establishing an outstanding herd of 80 Shorthorn breeders in their home state of Tasmania. Reg & Rebecca have also been tremendous supporters of Beef industry Youth programs including the recently formed Tasmania Junior Beef Expo, a highly successful Youth Expo held annually in Tasmania.
