Australian White station mated ewes make $527

Aust-white-ewesStand out lines during the week on AuctionsPlus included a line of Australian White station mated ewes from Corack East VIC, which made $527/head.

These April/May drop 20’ ewes weighed 57kg (pictured), and will make the journey to Benalla VIC.

Another notable line hailed from Wellington NSW, with a lot of Australian White ewes, March/April drop 20’, station mated, weighing 55kg reaching $457/head.  These ewes will be traveling to Tamworth NSW.

Merino ewe lambs sold from $160 to $225/head, to average $202/head.

From Forbes NSW, a lot of April/May 20’ drop Merino ewe lambs topped the category, with Tupra blood ewes, weighing 44kg and 65mm skin. These lambs will stay within the Forbes region.

Merino ewe hoggets sold from $195 to $355/head, to average $261/head. The top price was achieved by a line scanned empty ewe hoggets, which weighed 54kg, with 9mm skins. These ewe hoggets will make the journey from Manilla NSW, to Dubbo, NSW.

Young merino breeders (2-4 years) reached prices from $190 to $336/head, to average $269/head. A line of scanned in lamb (SIL) ewes from Trangie NSW, achieved the top price, weighing 66kg, with 30mm skins and will travel to Coonamble NSW.

Proven Merino breeders (4+ years) were priced from $119 to $287/head, to average $217/head.

From Hay NSW, a line of 5-year-old SIL Merino ewes achieved the top price, weighing 79kg with 45mm skin and will travel to Warren NSW.

Merino wethers sold from $95 to $230/head, to average $140/head. The top price was achieved by a line of 3-4 year old Merino wethers from Mount Collins NSW. This line averaged 74kg/head, with 60mm skin and will make the journey to Narromine NSW.

First cross ewe lambs sold from $207 to $363/head, to average $287/head. From Bridgewater VIC, a lot of June/July 20’ drop Border Leicester/Poll Merino ewe lambs topped the category, weighing 59kg with 16mm skin. These lambs will travel to Warrnambool VIC.

Young first cross breeders (2-4 years) sold from $330 to $427/head, to average $367/head.

The top price was achieved by a line of 30-32 month-old Border Leicester/Merino ewes from Cootamundra NSW. These ewes weighed 70kg, with 40mm skins and are destined for Yarrawonga VIC.

 

Tasmania had a total offering of 2,800 head this week, down 1,154 head from last week. Some stand out lines included, Aug/Sep 20‘ drop Kelso ewe lambs from Tomahawk TAS, weighing 51kg – making $250/head.

A line of 5-year-old Merino wethers from Lemont TAS, weighing 57kg, with 30mm skin made $157/head, and will be heading to Epsom VIC.
