Top price of $12,000 was reached at the Eagle Ridge Holstein Heifer Dispersal Sale for Master Breeders Russell and Kerry Eagle at Shepparton for the outstanding red heifer, Eagle Ridge Ammo C Polka.
Polka is a daughter of the EX 93 Red cow Contender L Polka with over 600 kgs fat.
She sold due to sexed Unstopabull-Red to K & H Jones of Foster who have been regular buyers at Eagle Ridge.
These buyers also selected Eagle Ridge Undenied O Polly at $7,250, this very smart heifer sold due to sexed King Doc and is from a High Octane dam that is already in the Jones herd, they also selected Eagle Ridge Ammo GWA Polka at $5,500.
Second top of the sale was Eagle Ridge Crush FY Tiffany at $9,000, this stylish heifer was backed by the Royal Show winning Tiffany family, she sold to Luccombe Holsteins of Finley, NSW who also already have her VG Fever dam.
These buyers also purchased Eagle Ridge Chill A Pollyanna, a grand daughter of the EX, 2E Blitz Pauline cow at $5,500.
Another strong return buyer was D & J Custance of Nyora, among their selections were the quality red heifers Eagle Ridge Unstopabull D Polka at $7,000, Eagle Ridge Devour M Julie at $5,500 and Eagle Ridge Unstopabull C Polka at $5,000, these all sold due to sexed red sires.
Strong buyer throughout the sale was M Adams of Stoney Creek, South Gippsland included in his selections were Eagle Ridge Devour AC Polka at $5,500, Eagle Ridge Baird AS Tiffany, Eagle Ridge Goldsun San Polly and Eagle Ridge Bankroll L Paula all at $5,000 each.
Kit Davidson of Finley selected the very correct Eagle Ridge Undenied O Pauline due to sexed King Doc also at $5,000.
Selling agents Dairy Livestock Services report 77 Heifers av $4,175, 5 Cows av $3,400
and 82 Holsteins gross $338,500 Av $4,128.
