Garbo Robin Expander makes sale top of $7200

A total of 146 Holsteins grossed $437,100 and averaged $2,995.

Holstein enthusiasts from all parts of Victoria along with NSW were active buyers at the Inaugural Autumn Opportunity Sale hosted by the North West Sub Branch of Holstein Australia at the Echuca Selling Centre.

The large offering of mostly Autumn calving Cows and Heifers were presented in great form and are sure to perform in their new homes.

Sale top of $7,200 was paid G & J Nicholas of Corryong, Vic for the tremendous young cow, Gorbro Robin Expander, GP 84.

She is due in April to Radio and is backed by many generations of EX & VG with her 2nddam being the EX 94 Goldwyn Robin cow, a noted OFC Winner bred down from the World famous Spring Farm Rosetta line, she was sold by Gorbro Holsteins of Cohuna. These same vendors also sold Gorbro Absolute Bib-Red, VG 88 at $5,250 to the Nicholas Family too.

Other noted Gorbro sales included Expanman Tiffany, a direct grand daughter of the Cow of the year Informer Tiffany, EX, 21 SBC, she sold at $4,750 to P & A DeCicco of Merrigum and Fitz Whiterose, VG and backed by a further 8 gens of EX & VG from the famed Blackrose/Talent maternal line, she sold at $4,200 to Lincoln Dare of Jancourt East.

Second top price of $6,000 was reached twice, both lots sold account Courtney Buchanan with Leighfield Rockstars Fantastic, GP 84, a large framed young cow by Solomon bred down from Harvue Roy Frosty, EX 97 selling to DeCicco Bros and Leighfield Doc Bliss, a bred heifer by King Doc from a Doorman dam bred down from the Royal Winter Fair Intermediate Champion Aingers Advent Bambi, EX 94, she was purchased by Benevento Park Holsteins of Undera.

This buyer also selected a top young cow by Solomon from a Fever daughter of the 2016 Sydney Royal and Vic Winter Fair Grand Champion Mooramba Talent Randell, EX 93 at $5,100 on account of Holloway and Oliver.

The dual Master Breeder Clydevale herd sold a Spring calving heifer by Drifter from many gens of EX & VG dams including the 12,600 litre, EX 91, 3E MrSam Pisa cow at $5,000 and the very smart yearling Clydevale Chief League bred from the noted Laura line at $4,100, both selling to C & J Jones of Patho.

The Sieben Family of Brindabella Holsteins sold a fine line of young cows including Brindabella Meridian Micka, VG 85 with records to 556 kgs fat at $4,500 and Brindabella Control A Nan from the famous Judel Fan line at $4,000 both selling to R & K Glover of Katandra.

They also sold Brindabella Control Dottie, VG 87 with over 11,000 litres at $4,600 to B & J Somerville.

The Holloddon herd of J & N Holland sold a high quality line of close to calving heifers including Holloddon MVP Corrine 2694 from an EX dam with over 11,900 litres at $,500 to T Lindquist of Scotts Creek and Holloddon MVP Laura 2703 from a VG 87 Twist dam at $4,000 to P Fullerton of Nirranda.

Many keen judges were loud in praise of the April calving heifer Melaleuca Tatoo Glaze bred from the noted Clydebank/Murribrook Gail family, she sold at $4,100 a/c B & J Somerville to Clydevale Holsteins.
