The First Stage Complete Dispersal Sale of the Master Breeder Warramont Holstein herd of David and Trudy Fiebig of Mt Gambier, SA was held at the Warrnambool Selling Centre before a large audience both live and online.
Sale top of $24,000 was the outstanding young cow Warramont Diamondback Fondue, VG 88 (pictured).
She displayed exceptional breed type and is bred down from the former Melbourne and Adelaide Royal Champion Warramont Winluke Frosti, EX 91 that comes from the World famous Quality Fran family in Canada, this top young cow was purchased by Simon Wilkie of Bacchus Marsh.
Second high seller at $13,500 was Warramont Doorman Daybreak 10, VG 87, BPI +401 with 497 kgs fat on her most recent lactation. She was of many top cows bred down from Elite Mountain Dreamer, VG 87, 12 SBC and was purchased by P Fullerton of Nirranda. The same buyer also selected maternal sisters Warramont Heath Dallas, VG at $6,750 and Warramont Xmas Dallas, VG 86 at $6,000 these young cows completed 11 generations of VG.
The Emu Banks herd of B & J Dickson of Terang selected four top young cows Warramont Contender Deluxe, VG 86, a 14 gen EX & VG at $7,250, Warramont Kingboy Daybreak 11, VG 87 at $7,000, Warramont Superhero Davina, BPI +432 at $6,500 and Warramont Christmas Delight, VG at $6,000. All bred from the high performance Mountain Dreamer family. The large scale Donnybrook Props of SA selected several fine young cows including the fine uddered Red cow Warramont Licorice Fuschia, VG at $6,000.
Other noted cow sales included Warramont Solomon Flamingo, VG at $5,800 to B & A Tweedle of Glencoe, SA. Warramont Microchip Desktop, a full sister to Dataset at Genetics Australia selling at $5,500 to Damion Henry of Tinamba. Warramont Picardus Daybreak 8, VG at $5,100 to J & J Hibberson of Katunga. Warramont Zinger Tint-Red at $5,000 to D & J Custance of Nyora.
The extremely well presented line of Autumn calving heifers met strong demand selling to a top of $5,750 for Warramont Solomon Lady, a daughter of an EX 92, 3E dam with near 100,000 litres bred from the famed Glomar Lucky family, she was selected by A & M Lindquist of Scotts Creek, this buyer also selected Warramont Akyol Tint-Red at $5,400.
J & J Hibberson were strong buyers throughout the day and selected the following heifers Warramont Solomon Darling bred from 3 gens of 100,000 litre lifetime dams at $5,000 along with Contender Daybreak 25 at $4,600 and Byway Dixie at $4,500.
D & M Stewart of Pyramid Hill paid $4,800 Warramont Providence Dakota bred from 11 gens of EX & VG dams. N Stevens of Simpson purchased Warramont Providence Fleur at $4,500.
Selling agents Dairy Livestock Services report buyers were from all parts of Victoria and South Australia.
A total of 92 Cows av $4,025, 38 Heifers av $3,595 and 130 Holsteins grossed $506,700 and Av $3,900.
