Selection may not come down to the next “hot” bull

Dick-Whale

In 1997 Dick joined Elders as the Value Based Marketing Manager until in 2004 when he started his current business as Genetics Consultant to the Beef Industry.

Cattle consultant Dick Whale will speak on selecting the next generation of profitable cattle this month at Young, NSW.

Industry preference may not be influenced by the next “hot” bull.

The feed lot when he arrived consisted of 1400 cattle and after his first year contained 27,000 head. When he left, the company had 44, 000 cattle on feed.  Dick handled and assessed every animal during his time there.
