Lot feeders encouraged by ALFA to provide shade

All pens have shade erected allowing all cattle under their care to have access to shade, 360 days of the year.

 The Australian Lot Feeders’ Association (ALFA) has announced an initiative to encourage all feedlots to provide cattle with access to shade.
ALFA’s shade initiative builds on industry’s commitment to animal welfare and continual improvement.

A range of shade types have been utilised and General Manager, Andrew Talbot, explains the difference between each of the structures and what benefits Killara Feedlot is gaining from the implementation of shade a video.
