Kayton Goldchip Irene tops Holstein dispersal at $8000

dairy-rotaryThe Holstein Complete Dispersal Sale of all Spring Calving Heifers from the Master Breeder Holloddon herd of J & N Holland combined with the Major Dispersal of the Master Breeder Kayton Herd of R & R Robins along with invited entries from Leighfield and Ingoldale met with strong competition from throughout all parts of Victoria and NSW.

Sale top of $8,000 was paid for Kayton Goldchip Irene, EX 90 an 11th gen EX & VG, 8 year old with a tremendous udder, she sold to Clydevale Holsteins.

These same buyers also selected the top selling heifer from Holloddon in Control Charcole 2705 a daughter of the Tableau Charcole, EX 92, 2E cow at $4,400 and Dornbrae Windbrook California (Imp.ET) VG at $3,700, this 10th gen EX & VG 7 year old came from the Kayton group.

Second top price of $5,500 was the All Australian winning 2 year old from 2019, Paringa Beemer Lilah, VG 86 a/c Leighfield and backed by the famed Tahora ā€˜Lā€™ family, she was purchased by Eloora Past. Co of Southern NSW.

Next high of $5,000 was the big milk cow Leighfield Doorman Blonde (Imp.ET), VG 86, a grand daughter of former All Canadian Winner Advent Bambi, EX 94, she sold to P Fullerton of Nirranda. Another top cow from Leighfield was Rockstar Emilio Cranberry bred from the famed Avonlea Connie family, she sold at $4,500 to M Dennis of Calivil.

Several of the Holloddon heifers sold at $4,000 each, these included Holloddon MVP Leonie 2704 bred from a VG 87, 13,000 litre dam selling to C & N Hibberson of Yarroweyah. Holloddon Contender Laura 2721 from a VG 88 dam with over 12,000 litres and Holloddon Numero Bebe 2742 both to C Lister.

Holloddon Numero Laura 2747 from a VG 86 show Winning dam also sold at $4,000 to R & R Robins. M Daniel of Waaia selected the deep pedigreed 5 year old Kayton MVP Tonya at $4,000.

The Castle Family of Allansford purchased the 14th gen EX & VG cow Kayton Corvette Irene 2, VG 86 and the 7th gen EX & VG cow Kayton Solomon Tricia, VG 87 both at $3,750.

Selling agents Dairy Livestock Services report ā€“ 92 Holsteins sold for a gross of $284,950 Av $3,100.
