Registrations for Angus Youth Roundup are now open with young beef enthusiasts aged between 8 and 25 encouraged to register and come along to the four-day event.
The event is open to all competitors, from novice to experienced and as well as offering the usual educational experiences and competitions such as herdsman, junior judging and paraders, there are a number of great scholarships, awards and bursaries on offer.
The NH Foods Australia Angus Youth National Roundup committee is working hard behind the scenes to adhere to all of the evolving Covid -19 related restrictions and adjusting elements of the event to ensure a safe and fun event can be attended by as many people as possible. However, there are some requirements that need to be considered when entering this year which haven’t previously been enforced.
Angus Australia Breed Development Officer, Jake Phillips says, “The Angus Roundup has become the greatest single breed event anywhere in the country and I am just so grateful to all the sponsors, volunteers and organising committee that have stayed dedicated to delivering an action packed, fun and super educational event“.
“This year we have the team from NH Foods Australia going to be available to talk to us about careers, running feedlots, processing cattle, marketing beef across the world as well as their celebrity chef brand ambassador, Fast Ed, to cook us up some delicious Angus beef on the Thursday night”
NH Foods Australia Angus Youth National Roundup Event Manager, Toni Nugent, echoed these sentiments saying how excited the committee is to have entries opening.
“It’s been a long time since we have stepped foot in the show ring and we can’t wait to see everyone in January. While COVID has meant we have had to make some changes to how we will do things, people can be rest assured that we are continuing to plan a fun filled educational program providing opportunities to hone your skills and learn about the Australian beef industry.”
